Recycling - Curbside

Curbside Recycling Rules
Your refuse bill will remain low if everyone participates in recycling.  Recycling saves you money and saves our environment.  It also ensures that you will have adequate room in your toter for your weekly refuse.  For more information on recycling, please contact the Chester County Solid Waste Authority at 610-273-3771.

Recycling pickup occurs on a different day than your regular refuse pickup. Your recycling toter must be out by 6:00 AM on the day of collection. Toters must be removed from the curbside by 12:00 midnight on the day of collection.

The Township offers a curbside recycling program for newsprint, corrugated cardboard, aluminum and tin cans, clear-brown-green glass and plastics. (A complete list of acceptable recycling items can be obtained through the link below.)  Your recycling items are picked up commingled.  This means that recycle items should be placed together in the yellow-lidded recycling toter.  Please do not place anything on top of your toter or the  toter cannot be emptied.

Effective January 24, 2013, Pennsylvania residents no longer are able to dispose of cell phones, televisions, tablets, computers, monitors and other electronic waste in their trash.

When non-recyclable items are placed in with your recyclables they have to be removed and landfilled anyway, costing more money to sort and dispose of.

There is no additional charge for the recycling program.  It is factored into your normal trash bill.  However, the more you recycle the more tax dollars you save on landfill costs.
